Bunky Echo-Hawk is an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation of Washington State and a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. A graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts, he is a visual artist, a writer, and heavily involved in nonprofit work. His artwork has exhibited nationally and internationally, his poetry published extensively and his plays produced nationally. He has been involved with several Native American nonprofits, including the American Indian Science and Engineering Society, the Native American Rights Fund, the American Indian College Fund, and the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science. Bunky is on the Board of Directors for the Denver Indian Center in Denver, Colorado, and is co-founder and Executive Director of NVision, a Native nonprofit focusing on Native youth outreach via multi-media arts.
