Right-wing Intersections: Race, Gender & Sexuality (Room 9206)
Why is the Christian Right, generally focused on gender roles, meddling in immigration policy? How do homophobic campaigns imperil affirmative action? Why are property rights advocates at the vanguard of anti-American Indian organizing? We’ll interrogate examples of right-wing intersections, develop a deeper understanding of what animates various sectors of the US political Right and -- through the lens of specific organizing projects on immigrant and welfare rights -- discuss the implications for racial justice organizing.
