Luisa Blue is the Assistant to the President for Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 521, responsible for the California Central Valley and new organizing for her local. Originally an RN at San Francisco General Hospital, she first got involved with her SEIU local as a shop steward and later was elected president for SEIU Local 400. She came on staff with SEIU in their organizing department in 1990 and has traveled all over the country for SEIU to work on campaigns in healthcare and in the public sector.
