Josina Morita is a Senior Research Associate at the Applied Research Center’s Chicago office. osina She was a Community Trustee Scholar at Pitzer College where she earned degrees in Sociology and International Race Relations. She recently authored Illinois’ first legislative report card on racial equity, Facing Race 2007. Josina has also co-authored Building Power for Better Schools and Racial Justice Leadership Initiative: Building Capacity for Changing Communities. She was a contributing writer to Youth Rising, a report on youth organizing around the country, as well as to an anthology on the United Nations Conference on Women, Beyond Beijing. From 1998-2002, Josina was Editorial Assistant for the Association of Black Psychologist’s quarterly journal, Psych Discourse. She serves on the Executive Board of the Japanese American Service Committee and on the Reader’s Bureau of The Chicago Reporter magazine. She is earning a Masters in Urban Planning and Public Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
