Jason Corburn was most recently the codirector of the Center for Occupational and Environmental Health and an adjunct professor in the Urban Public Health Program at Hunter College. He has worked as a senior environmental planner for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection and as a mediator of environmental and public health disputes for the Consensus Building Institute. Corburn researches issues of urban environmental justice, with a focus on community-based environmental health research that addresses health disparities. Professor Corburn's new book Street Science (MIT Press, 2005) explores the role of local knowledge in science policymaking and urban environmental health. Corburn earned his PhD in urban environmental planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002.
