Gregoria Flores is the Community Leader with The Fraternal Black Honduran Organization (Organización Fraternal Negra Hondureña, or OFRANEH). OFRANEH was founded in 1979 OFRANEH's mission is to represent the Garífuna, Honduras’ Afro-Carib minority, and to protect their capacity for self-determination, including programs for the political, social, economic and culture advancement of the Garífuna as well as for the defense of their human rights and ancestral lands. It is the oldest and largest Garífuna organization, representing all 46 Garífuna communities along Honduras' Caribbean coast and islands. Five thousand Honduran Garífuna, out of a total population of 250,000, are annual dues-paying members.
