Glenn D. Magpantay, Esq. is a Staff Attorney at the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, where he coordinates the voting rights program. He represented Asian American and Latino plaintiff-intervenors in the U.S. Department of Justice’s lawsuit against the City of Boston for violations of the Voting Rights Act in US v. Boston and is currently litigating Chinatown Voter Education Alliance v. Ravitz, an action against the New York City Board of Election for failing to comply with the Language Assistance Provisions (Section 203) of the Voting Rights Act. Glenn has published scholarly legal articles, authored a number of reports, and has given commentary to media outlets including The New York Times, USA Today, Boston Globe, CNN, and National Public Radio. He is a Commissioner to the New York City Voter Assistance Commission and a Steering Committee member of the Gay Asian & Pacific Islander Men of New York (GAPIMNY). In 2004, Glenn was named one of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association’s “Best Lawyers Under 40” and was also named as one of INSTINCT magazine’s “25 Leading Men of 2004.”
