George E. Curry is an editor, syndicated columnist, author, university professor and a radio and TV commentator. Since 2001, he has served as editor-in-chief of the National Newspaper Publishers Association News Service in Washington, D.C. His weekly column is syndicated to more than 200 newspapers. During the 2006-2007 school year, Curry is serving as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Mississippi Valley State University. He is past president of the American Society of Magazine Editors, the first African American to hold that office.
